It did journey to Asia

Along The Ocean

Came from Africa

It faced many a danger

Quakes and Volcanoes

Crashed into Asia

Creating tallest mountains

The Himalayas!

It is so awesome

It has the best geography

And great history

It's independent

It's rich in diversity

And it's beautiful

It's flag tricolour

Burn's bright in our heart

Like Patriotism

As we all say that,

We're proud to be Indian

Two Indian Publications

Katha India

Started in 1988 with a magazine for children from the underserved communities, Katha’s work spans the literacy to literature continuum. By seamlessly connecting grassroots work in education and urban resurgence, Katha brings children living in poverty into reading and quality education. Over the past three decades, through its many programmes, Katha has helped over one million children help themselves out of poverty. (Source: https://www.katha.org/)

Pratham

Pratham is an innovative learning organization created to improve the quality of education in India. As one of the largest non-governmental organizations in the country, Pratham focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. Established in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai, Pratham has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham means 'first' in Sanskrit. True to its name, it is the first major organization to achieve lasting, wide-scale success in India's educational landscape. This has been made possible due to various policies and strategies adopted by the organization. (Source:https://www.pratham.org/)

Indian Folk and Tribal Art

Warli Folk Painting

Maharashtra is known for its Warli folk paintings. Warli is the name of the largest tribe found on the northern outskirts of Mumbai. Even though the tribal art style dates back to the 10th century A.D., the Warli paintings form was not known until the 1970s. The art form features the vivid expression of daily and social events of the Warli tribe and is used by them to embellish the walls of village houses. This was the only means of transmitting folklore to a populace not acquainted with the written word.

Madhubani Painting

Madhubani painting, also referred to as Mithila Art as it flourishes in the Mithila region of Bihar, is characterized by line drawings filled in by bright colours and contrasts or patterns. These paintings are popular because of their tribal motifs and use of bright earthy colours. These paintings are done with mineral pigments prepared by the artists. The work is done on freshly plastered or mud walls.

Pattachitra Art

Pattachitra style of painting is one of the oldest and most popular art forms of Odisha. The name Pattachitra has evolved from the Sanskrit words patta, meaning canvas, and chitra, meaning picture. Pattachitra is thus a painting done on canvas, and is manifested by rich colourful application, creative motifs and designs, and portrayal of simple themes, mostly mythological in depiction.
